Mt. Ortsveri ice wall from the northeast
NE face 200M WI2 AD+ (RUSS 3A)
The summit of Orjveri is located to the west of the Devdoraki Glacier. The elevation of the summit is 4222 meters above sea level.
Route
The route starts from the Bethlehem hut (meteorological station). We descend towards the Devdoraki Glacier. We cross the glacier, gaining some elevation, until we reach the steep ice wall. The wall is visible throughout the entire approach, so it is practically impossible to get lost in good weather.
At the base of the wall, we find a small couloir between the rocks, from where we begin the ascent. We follow the wall with a stable incline until we reach the mountain’s slope (Britva). From here, we continue simultaneously, moving left until we reach the summit.
The descent is made via the classic route to the summit.
