Tikanadze summit

PD (2A RUSS)

Route

From the Chaukhi Base Camp (Camp 1), we head toward the main Chaukhi massif. After crossing the moraine, we ascend the slope to the right. We continue ascending the slope and reach the Sphinx-shaped rock. From there, we turn right and shortly reach the ridge. We follow the ridge to the end and transition onto a moderately scree-covered slope. We then turn right and reach the saddle — approximately 200 meters.

From this point, the climbing route begins. From here, moving with simultaneous rope belay, we follow the rocky ridge to the left — approximately 800–900 meters. This route is mostly walkable. Just before the summit, at the end of the ridge, there is a 50-meter simple rock wall, above which is the summit.

Descent: From the summit, we follow the ridge westward. On the right, we encounter a couloir, which we descend and reach the cirque. We cross the cirque and ascend a scree slope, rejoining the beginning of the route (the ridge). From there, we descend the grassy slope back to the camp via the same path we came.

Duration: 7–8 hours.
